This project was born in the illustration class taught by Fabio Mora, founder of Dialeto Studio.
We were challenged to launch a fictional illustration studio for Miami Ad School — and that’s how Magic Hat Studio came to life. A space where creativity feels like sorcery, and ideas materialize with a touch of wonder.
Inspired by the expression “to pull something out of the hat,” the concept plays with the magic of illustration — the ability to make something from nothing, with imagination as the only ingredient.
To bring this to life, I illustrated every student in the class, transforming our group into the studio’s very first act of magic. Each portrait includes personal details inspired by their own tastes, styles, and quirks — making every piece a reflection of who they are.
And hidden in every illustration? A small flamingo — an easter egg that nods to the iconic symbol of Miami Ad School, and a playful reminder that even the most magical creations are grounded in storytelling.
